Defensive End
The defensive end lines up on the edge of the defensive line. They are primarily responsible for rushing the quarterback and tackle him before he can throw for a sack. This pressure is usually referred to as the pass rush, and is critical to the success of the defense. Because of their important role on the field defensive ends are frequently drafted in the top five picks of the NFL Draft.
